Someone called me from this number and asked me if I was "my own name". I stupidly confirmed it and then confirmed my email address. They started telling me about an iPad that I had won. <> <> <>
Then followed a lot of swearing on my part before they hung up.
Next time, if someone asks who I am, I ll ask who they are before hanging up.

SCAM Male called at 10.30am 22/2/21. Stated he was from Domestic Appliance Care. Not Domestic and General. We have a policy with D&G and this man gave details of our appliances we have covered. He stated out address and offered a 35% discount. I asked for it through the post and he stated he would need the sort code of our bank. A chap called Jamie called to update our tariff, saying he was from E-On, but didn’t have our bank details. This is odd as we put all our utilities on standing order. Even stranger as we don’t have an E-On account! Didn’t have a chance to challenge as he left this message on our answer phone.

Received a call from this number, answered but no-one spoke. Decided to stay on the line to see what happened. Complete silence for about 30 seconds then the line went dead. When I 1471 d I got the number 0161 918 0023. On calling the number, I am informed that "This number is temporarily out of order"! Can someone please explain to me the legality of this? SCAM / SPAM I received an automated voice call from this number at 12:31, supposedly from Amazon Prime informing me that over £70 had been deducted for my membership and I should press "1" to speak to someone to discuss this. I hung up. I am not a member of Amazon Prime and have had calls like this before. I expect if I had spoken to someone, they would have asked for my bank account details so they could cancel it.
Number called. When answered they hung up. Could be scammers collecting numbers that answer abd using this number as spoof number
