Said he was from BT Outreach and would speed up my internet. Asked me to start my computer and follow some instructions. I put the phone down but he kept ringing back, became aggressive and threatened to block my internet.
SCAM - CALL SUPPOSEDLY FROM HMRC THREATENING TO PASS YOUR CASE TO LEGAL - DON'T CALL BACK AND HANG UP IF YOU ANSWERED
I just received a call from this number on my work iPhone (how did they get my number?!). I ignored the call, Googled the number, reached this page. Based on these comments, I have blocked the number using my iPhone software.

Hasting Direct staff must sell details onto this company, when I challenged the caller he said false information must have been passed onto them. My car was crashed into but it was parked up with nobody inside at the time, the caller refused to believe me calling me a liar and demanded I go for a medical! This was actually just an automated BT text-to-landline service telling me the time slot for my Costco parcel delivery that I was expecting, so this was completely legit for me. It will try ringing you several times until you listen to the text message so just listen and it will stop. However, as it's a generic BT service it is open to abuse but I would advise against blocking it because the message delivery service itself is not a scam, just be aware though that the message you receive could be bogus.

Missed Call - Called Back - And the same PPI S**t. The lady started off asking personal details, which I didn t reveal and asked what it is about. She doesnt want to listen when I said I am not interested and she can take off my name from her database. Am now receiving atleast 1-2 calls a day and 3-4 sms messages from various people/companies and I think it has crossed the limits to be tagged as harassment. Am not sure what OFCOM is doing about it.
