Indian sounding man called saying he was from BT and there was a problem with my broadband line. He could help me fix it if I followed some simple instructions. Says he was calling from London but caller ID showed it as Birmingham sounds like another scam. Hang up
The call is annoying. When the phone rings and goes to the answer all that is heard is white noise. The situation is such that we let all calls go the answer machine with the view that the call is for us they will leave a message

I was called by an indian man with poor command of the english language claiming they were from a lifestyle company or such like and also had my full name and address, and they said they had obtained this information from a free database, once I said I wasnt prepared to answer any questions they hung up. Told me they were calling as id applied for a loan which had been declined. I haven t applied for any loasns and she kept insisting I had but said she couldn t tell me where id applied due to confidentiality. In the process of buying a house and the only loan id applied for was a mortgage which is already in place so very disconcerting. When I tried to question her she tried to end the call. Clearly a scam.
