Number called my mobile when I answered no one spoke I left call connected till they hung up. tried calling back got a weird ringtone then a fake American voice answering machine don't answer

They phoned me to say they were Microsoft Specials. Told me my PC had a fault - possibly Virus Infected - and first tried to access my PC via Teamviewer. This did not work so i was told to visit www.ammyy.com. Here they did gain access and I sat back to watch the mouse pointer open and close multiple files etc. Much file info was Transfered and after sometime they phoned again to ask if the PC now worked faster,,,,Answer was, "NO". I called this number thinking it was yahoo support, as I haven't been able to access my e-mail address. As soon as I called, they asked me to pay $40 so it did seem strange, but I had already given them my e-mail address and date of birth. Hopefully that won't have any consequences?

I was in an accident recently that was not my fault. They had all the details. They said they were my insurance company and i would be receiving a 2 grand pay out as I had been in the car. Then proceeded to transfer me to a no win no fee solicitor who attempted to coerce me into saying that I was injured. I am now regularly called by them.
