Automated voice hung up. Just reading some of the comments here, I feel your frustration, my DH & I are shift workers. We invested in a home phone with a "nuisance call block" which, much like a mobile phone, allows us to save and block numbers. It s not quite the end of nuisance calls, BUT by googling every unknown number and diligently saving and blocking every nuisance call, we have seen a massive drop in the calls, we re down to approx 1-2/week when we were getting 4-7 calls/day. Said he was from BT Openreach, calling about a problem reported with my broadband. I know it's false because I do not have a BT service.

On answering got a recorded message stating I would be called back when an operator was available.
