I live in Manchester. Just had a call from these people trying to guide me to allow them remote access to my computer to "fix problems". I knew it was a scam to rip personal info from my computer. Just wanted to share that they are now contacting phone numbers in the Manchester area - be warned

This number calls on average once a day - to a business number. I press 9 as instructed to remove from database but nothing happens. As Robbiefan says if you press 5 to speak to someone they just put the phone down on you when they realise there is nothing in it for them.

Called & said he is from BT Openreach about my internet, which we do not use, first tried to confirm who I am- when I told him we do not have internet in this house he immediately put the phone down on me!!! Fraud, automated call and then says my National Insurance Number has been compromised. After that you press a number choice and get put through to someone who claims you have just been passed through so can they take your details. I asked her where she got my number from and she said that she hasn't called me but I called her, then got defensive and hung up. Do not get scammed by these idiots!
