Probably SPAM. When I picked up, there was some noise like someone pocket dialled me, but then an automated robotic voice started talking, so I ended it.
Asked for me by my first name which I challenged as he did not know me and he went on to say it was a follow up call regarding an accident I d had in the last three years. Have blocked the call. This is the second call like this from a local number...I m guessing this is a new tactic.
Last night I received a call from this number and a man asked to speak to my husband. When I asked what it was about he said he was from Chase Alexander. I asked for more details and he hung up This morning he phoned again and again said he was from Chase Alexander and wanted to speak to my husband. Type of call is fraud . I am getting texts from Barclays Bank telling me I ve done something with my account and if I don t agree then I am to call 03332001014. I guess it s a premium rate number and if I did call it regarding a text from my bank would they then proceed to try and get my bank details. I haven t called it of course but wanted to share the fact that this number is being used in a scam!

This number is British Gas - probably payment collections department. When you call it back, it goes to a main menu with a series of options to hear balance / pay bill.

Fraud claiming to be from HSBC fraud team tried twice now

This number is attached to a PayPal request for £749.99 from a Brad Faylo ([email protected]) I declined the request, obviously, but it mentions fraudulent activity in my account debiting £749.99 GBP for iFLY gift cards.
Told me my appliance cover was expiring shortly. When I said I wanted to make a claim he changed his mind and said it had expired. SCAM obviously, but who issues these phone numbers knowing they are used to defraud - somewhere a legit company has to be issuing these. They are no better.
