put through to some Indian call centre. I could barely hear what rubbish they were trying to sell but sounded like bogus anti-virus.

Seems to be some general (probably Indian) call centre - claiming to be from BT / Virgin, with survey question if you have shopped at Tesco or Morrisons. In fact just a general call centre.
Same issue as others, had a broadband problem, got it fixed, then this fake Virgin call (they were persistent, I had 5 missed calls). Report this to Virgin because someone is leaking personal data. Virgin Media are also on twitter: @virginmedia
