this is the same experience i m having everyday of the week, usually twice , sometimes up to 4 times a day.. various Indian blokes with the dubious name of James or Kevin ( who apparently live up the lane) then they demand i go onto the pc and follow their instructions.. initially i actually spoke to them.. now i ve switched off the phone, cos i can t take it any more.. i m in a wheelchair and it takes me bloody ages to get from A-> B in my home so wasting my life on this crap seriously is the final straw..

Call from this number today from an Indian sounding 'Peter'. Asked to speak to home owner I wouldn't confirm who I was. He then said can I answer one Question, did I have a phone line/ provider with BT, which I said no. He then asked was I between 17-75, told him that was a second question and I then hung up, with a lot of babbling from his end trying to persuade me not to!

Seems to be used for some telemarketing call center - this range of numbers 7098710xxx (common feature, they use more numbers of the same range) is mostly reported with silent calls/testing robocalls, PPI - insurance marketing calls and energy companies offers - wide scope call centre. Just block it if not interested (I use the app from these pages, no problems). People did they call you with the same or something new? I really don't answer unknown numbers and don't want to call them back...

Another nuisance call I was about to hang up on but then they seemed to know about my hotpoint washing machine which was apparently about to run out of insurance. I was led to believe I was paying £58 for the 3 year policy. The only thing which stopped them was that I didn t have enough in the account for the £175 the telemarketer was actually trying to put through!!!
