I have a CC with Vanquis Bank that is cleared every month if it has been used. I had £30 to pay when I get paid on Friday and they have tried to take it from my account. Phoned today at12.15 pm. Fairly gruff voice. Purportedly from BT. Asked me to confirm that I had been in touch with BT this morning. As I had, I said yes. There was some hesitation and a lot of background noise. I asked what he wanted. He asked if contact was by phone or mail (I think). I replied that the contact was on the internet and he abruptly ended the call.
