They called my elderly parents claiming to be from the inland revenue regarding a very serious matter. They were both very upset and extremely alarmed.

Call centre spam / scam. Said she was from a company called MEA (I think). Claiming there was an issue with a life insurance policy, so there would be a problem with a payout. I don't know the company or have a policy with them.

Well spoken scammer who will try to trick you into giving out personal details. Didn't know my name. Claimed to be from Local Energy Supplier which has got to be one of the laziest, crappiest made up authority names I've ever heard. Will hang up the instant he realises it's not going anywhere.

seductive and persuasive and made it sound as though they were from Vodafone. All fine for a while but now with hand set problem - a nightmare. Been waiting 6 weeks for handset swap and they made up a story about how it was the couriers fault. But the more they said the more obvious the lie became. Sad clowns.
