01794399253 called my landline on Thursday 13 July and a recorded message advised me that money had been transferred from my account and to key 1 to sort it. 01794 is a Romsey UK number as is my number so I assumed it was local. I did not continue with the call. It was the same as other messages that I have received recently mentioned Amazon. How do scammers phone from local numbers?

They got really angry when they kept asking me to confirm the account number. It feels so good wasting their time when then had full intentions of wasting myne / whilst trying to rob me blind . Safe number Missed call Old bloke called David rang my voicemail from this Macclesfield landline and left a message for his friend who didn’t show up as expected yesterday. I assume his friend has a similar mobile number to mine. Hope he’s ok.
Made threats of legal action from HMRC then asked to press one to speak to an officer. I suspected this was a scam as there is no reason to initiate legal action against myself - so I stopped call.

My elderly father had a call this evening at 7pm from this number advising him that £95 was due for his prescription charges. He does not pay for his medications. I will telephone the company who owns the number tomorrow to make them aware that someone is using their number for illegal purposes.
