SCAM - text meant to look as though from a family member whose phone had 'broken' requesting a return text to a different number

Received a call 14th Feb 2023. It showed up as suspected spam but call ended quickly whilst I was still thinking about whether to answer. Probably was company offering to get us money back for timeshare purchase. A recent call also showed as suspected spam turned out to be from garage confirming my appointment with them.
Said they were from the 3 network and the caller with a strong Indian accent said his name was John.deffo a SCAM

"David", in his very difficult-to-understand accent, said he was calling from '3' about upgrading my phone. Do I have an iPhone or a Samsung? I don't even have a contract with 3, so this has got to be some sort of scam. I rang off.

This number called me in today on my landline at 12:45. I answered, they hung up. I rang back, it rang then disconnected. I live in Scotland, the number is from York. I used my mobile to call, same result. What was the point of the call if they have no intention of communicating. There is a point but I am left wondering what!

Received a woman’s voice message from Careline leaving a message for me by my first name. Stating I should phone back about my brother mentioned by his first name. Phoned back several times., but got no reply. However, it turned out that my family member had been taken to hospital. He was on an emergency system at his home as he lives alone. Has to make own enquiries to verify message was not a scam.
This was supposed to be from BT saying my router was faulty.if you see this no. Don t answer it just hang up and block the no.

SCAM Someone called “David” called trying to sell me a mobile phone contract. iPhone 13 pro max, 24 months with unlimited data, minutes and texts. For £40 a month. When enquired, came up with nonsense which made no sense. Asked for network provider, my name, and starting asking family names. Of course gave fake names and realised I knew they were scammers. Did not recognise this number +44 330 001 3315 and did not leave a message hence did not answer info from another site Scheme or fraud to obtain personal information and trick people into making financial deposits. I received a call from +443300013315, a guy who identified himself as Alberto from the company ipgatetrade.pro/es and tried to argue with me under the false pretext of an application that I would have made.
