I got called by this number at 18:07. The line was silent and when I hung up it called again. A quick search suggested it was Barclays Bank. An odd time of day for a bank to call! I contacted Barclays via their app for a live text chat. The operator assured me it was a Barclays number and not a scam. SCAM - Claim to be from O2 offering a 40% discount on the lifetime of my contract. All I needed to do was to give the "one time" 6 digit number that they texted me. Saw this scam on a recent documentary and once they get a reply they can intercept important info. Quite how they got my number is a mystery but I assume a autobot or dark web listing. They were unable to confirm my name, I deleted the texts and have blocked this number. DONT FALL FOR IT.
