I am also in Norway. I answered most of the questions, as they seemed harmless (e.g. age-group and whether I have a house or not), but I refused to pronounce my name or to give my e-mail address. I suspect the Indian guy recorded the conversation and may try to edit my answers to make a fake agreement about something.

Well this is some landline from Manchester area, I couldn't find any info for this specific number, but there are two facts : people do search for this number which can be seen from different similar pages, and there are more similar numbers reported (just last 2 or 3 digits alternated) - so I assume this should be the same call centre. I recommend to block the whole 01618148xxx range, this area is known for "great" telemarketing... People pls did someone answer this number, can you confirm?

I was called at lunchtime today from phone no. 01618501883. A recorded message stated that they were from HMRC and that there was a lawsuit against me and that I should press 1 to speak to my case officer. I knew it was a scam and looked on this website to confirm the fact. How many people fall for this scam (especially the elderly)? I know an individual can block these numbers and I have done just that. But surely if HMRC or other organisations are aware of this scam, BT should be able to block/disconnect

They call me all the time and I'm becoming so annoyed. They don't even speak they just hang up, so what is the point of even calling?! You try to ring them back and it just tells you the number is not in service. I also had calls from a similar number who claim they got my number from my car finance company - very concerning and I tell the to F off on the rare occasion they do actually speak!!

SCAM I just got a call from this number. A lady saying she was calling regarding a minor road issue. When I asked when, she replied it had happened in the last 12 months. I insisted on asking when did it happen exactly, to which she repeated the 12 months answer. When I said that wasn't exact at all she just hung up. One more blocked.
