There was a recorded announcement of two misuses of my credit card (one of them Tesco). No mention of who was calling. A recorded announcement asked me to "press 2 and hold" to speak to customer service. A male voice with a strong foreign accent then asked me for my personal details. When asked what bank he was from the phone went dead.

Got an automated call from this number stating that its from HMRC and that there is a Tax Fraud registered against my name and I needed to press 1 otherwise I would be arrested shortly. I hung up straight away as I am certain that's not how HMRC operates.

Just had a text from the number 012685-578577 asking me to contact Claire regarding my account with T-Mobile.I thought it strange as why would they not email or ring me so it is interesting to see it is not directly from T-Mobile. I recently got a brill deal with T-Mobile for Broadband and a brill deal for my mobile with another company.Other than actually pay me to take their products I couldnt do any better than I have. Hal s reply is spot on. If someone sends a text message to your landline and you don t pick up the phone it gets stored for you to retrieve later. This 0795 number is where you collect the message, plus the number of the mobile phone that sent the text. It s not dangerous. All depends on what the text message says, of course - that could be anything. In my case it was someone texting to say Sorry I Missed Your Call. See? Not dangerous.

I add them to my mobile phone contacts as PPI Call - Ignore, Marketing Call - Ignore and have accumulated 10 x Marketing Calls and 11 x PPI Calls in the last 12 months.
