Call received on my landline, purportedly from Amazon regarding renewal of my Prime membership. Instructions to press 1 if I wanted to cancel membership. I hung up without pressing any numbers. I do not trust phone calls like this. Possible scam.

I got a call from this number and they were obviously trying to get personal information from me. First they asked me to tell them who I was to confirm my identity (even though they claimed to know who I was because they were calling me!). Second they told me that I needed to complete a verification process online by going to a specific website on my computer. The page they told me to go to sounded like a scam and they were trying to get me to fill out more personal information.

Suspected SCAM / SPAM Automated male computerised voice stating something like " This is HMRC, your account has been registered as linked with a fraud, if you dont press 1 now, you risk going to prison". Dont be fooled to press 1. Remember any such correspondence from HMRC would be given via written notice to your home address first, with several warnings. NOT via one single threatening call demanding 'if you dont press 1 now you risk going to prison!'
