I was just called on this number. Obviously a computerised call as there was a pause before someone with an American accent spoke. Wanted me to confirm a purchase I had made for over £3,000. I put the phone down. SCAM SCAM
Scam number trying to get details from people after sending a fraudulent PayPal money request. They get your phone number at least which they can connect to the phone number you call them on and your name which enables them to clone your identity.

Missed call. Having read the other comments I’m going to block this number. I have blocked so many of these numbers that seem to all belong to the same 2 Indian accent people. Last call I told the person to remove me from their list but I think they just keep calling on different numbers. Total pain in the neck, waste of everybody’s time & down right intrusive
The number was in an email which said it was from a friend (who I've not been in contact with for years) , asking for "help", but it was very much like another email I had just received from someone else saying he was a friend but that was spam. The number above was not one I recognised and when called simply asked callers to leave a message.

This number called me today saying with an automated message that there was a fraudulent charge for a US gambling site and if I wanted to no more I was to press one. 100% SCAM DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS!!! The bank would never phone u with an automated call and not identify themselves and ask u to press numbers like this. This is so they can get access to ur details. These people r TOTAL SCUM. I have reached out to a recovery expert spyhacktech @ gmail com to help me recover the money back from them and it is really progressing. SCAM call. Automated message, no introduction just I have authorised a money transfer and spent £400 on Amazon which I had not. Wanted me to press 1 to ok 2 to dispute or 3 to speak to an advisor. I hung up as it's an obvious scam. Be careful as all these ways of getting your details are sometimes convincing. Not today though !!!
They knew my name and said they'd been authorised by the government to handle a legal case against FX Trading. I knew it was a fraudulent phonecall when they wanted ID and statements from me. My phone picked up that they were calling from Rome but the man clearly said he was working for the UK government. Very dodgy!

Recieved phone call from 01483577441 at 1045am on Saturday 28th January 2023, Preporting to be from Amazon, stating they were witholding a payment of £700.00 As they suspect it. Asking me to press 1, which of course I didn't. This was a recorded message. I have never bourght anything of that value. This is a scam. beware.

Purport to be transaction investigators for TSB, and for an hour went over and over questioning, checking transactions, cancelling card, and then working very hard to persuade that account needed closing and reopening with a safe sort code and account number, asking about standing orders and Direct debits!!! Thankfully we realised in time and put a stop to it. They had enough information by then to make it dodgy!!!!
