I gave them my usual reply about having to talk to my IT consultant, and could they give me a number to ring back. (At this point he rang off, as these jokers usually do.) Given collective knowledge about these people I have no hesitation in marking it 'dangerous'

It's not a scam number and it is legit. NatWest saw fraudulent activity regarding a bank card. Hung up and rung the number at the back of the card and then Problem got solved. It was NatWest calling.
