Found out from another site that it s someone trying to get personal details.

Scarily just looked on line for a quote and within 30 seconds this number called. Knew it was a mistake as soon as I clicked through....

I would like to second Mo s comment above which turned out to be Vanquis also hounding me for a payment. Bit sneaky of them using a local area code knowing there would be more chance it would be answered!

Original call number came in as V21309255500012, when picked up and answered, no response, just silence. After hanging up, hit CID button (caller ID) and the new number was revealed as 1-778-555-0161, a number from British Vancouver.

Nice number with just a significantly sequential sequence of quintessential digits .... very elegant

they tried calling but left no message. This call was for a loan?

This company uses various combinations of telephone number. I just let the answer phone kick in. If I recognise the voice I then answer, can have 6 -10 of this type of call a day. I do 1471 and keep a note of all the numbers and then check them out on Google.

This was a Bt internet scam call.

Asked me for my address, which they said was wrong, and kept asking for my previous addresses, saying it will be a previous address and can I confirm my previous addresses. Today i was called by this number and guranteed a loan of 2000 and i paid then a 50 ukash voucher and they told me to wait until 7 and then the money would be in my account yet now it is not, i have tried the phone number again and noone is answering this number is a scam and i think that the police should do something about it

phoned 5 times today...silent phone calls...real pest!!!!!!!

Woman phoned asking if I was Miss (my girlfriend s name) I m not the butchest of guys but I don t sound like a woman.... Very heavily accented Indian accent, also appalling sound quality with lots of noise in the background. When I asked who it was from, she mumbled something about PPI at which point I put the phone down.
