SCAM - received a text from this number saying it was from British Gas and to reply with meter readings. Called the number and the recorded message said that the number wasn’t recognised. BEWARE!!!

Had a couple of calls from this number, and one from a similar number. Claim to be British Gas, saying there s been a change in the way I top up and they want to check that the supply is ok etc. I called BG from a number on the BG website, they checked and told me that these numbers are NOT BRITISH GAS. Recommended I add them to my block list, I suggest you do the same.

Claimed to be from EE offering me an upgrade, either £7 sim only, or £30 unlimited calls/data and an iPhone 14+ for £30, both deals too good to be true! Pushed them to send me the information, got the customer service version of ~what's to think about, just pick one! so I hung up.

Fraud. Another BT scam call from a woman with Indian accent. Familiar voice from previous different numbers. When challenged, she started shouting and became abusive. The idea is to extort money from you and they will protect you online. I can see how some may be frightened and fall for this scam. So Be Warned And Don’t Respond.

Just received a call from an Indian sounding chap called Charles . Asked me to confirm if I was receiving a high volume of telemarketing calls, and that he could help. Gave me the 0845 number, and told me to call for a box to plug in to the phone for ?1 something per month. I asked him to hold on for a moment, muted the call, put it on speaker and just left the phone on the desk while I carried on with my work. Almost certainly a scam call. Automated message referring to apple ipad, amazon and wishing to make some refund. Did not press their required number and the call cut off rather repeat their message which is more likely in such cases. Suggest that people ignore!
