I believe this is a spam number. Someone contacted me claiming to be Martin Truex, Jr.
This is a scam number which charges a premium rate at 3. 60 per minute to connect you to a service, they will likely put you on hold to music to make as much money as possible. Do not be duped into calling this number. Before calling any phone number, double check the website’s URL to ensure it definitely belongs to your provider - 0333 numbers are the standard call rate 0903 are premium rates.

Message arrived over WhatsApp - I guess it's now the platform of choice for scammers, as bulk SMS costs money? Suspicious "hi, hope you are doing well" received, and nothing else. I'd suggest do not reply, not even to ask "who is this?", as it's likely a scam. If it was somebody I knew, I'd expect them to use my name and/or identify themselves if they can see we haven't communicated before.

I moved house four months ago. I have a private and protected landline number (used to be called ex-directory). I have a call from this number at 7.15 pm on a Sunday evening??? How and why?? I'll just block it but I shouldn't have to and telephone numbers should NOT be shared by whoever and however my private number was made available.

Think it’s a scammer on FB, has hacked into an account on there and pretending to be a widower living in Bedford. The phone is being used in the Preston area. I have blocked before he tries to extract money from me. He will not send current face photo with today’s date in his hand so I know it is a scammer. The FB profile hacked looks very American not Uk. Very rude. Very bad. Wouldn’t tell me who was calling. Just wanted me to confirm my name with a yes or no. When I would not say yes or no and just kept asking who was calling, she said well you can piss off! and put the phone down on me. Don’t ever say yes or no on the phone - they record it and use it as approval for trying to get into accounts etc.
