They called me and I didn't pick up the phone as I usually ignore unknown calls - they then sent me a text saying they're the HSBC Fraud Prevention team and asked me to call back. Was a bit suspicious so I called the number on the back of my card instead. Yep to all who are not sure whether this number is a scam or not - just call the number on the back of your card and they will transfer you to the team, you don't have guess whether the call is legit or not then.

The message advises that HMRC wish to speak with you and it may be in your interest to appoint a Solicitor. Then asks that you call back. I called back and an Asian male answered with "This is Her Majesties Revenue Control, how can I help you" I hung up. Automated message sounds like it is from the bank, but did not state name of bank, or cardholder. Used another phone to call the number back (out of curiosity).
