Called a few times claim to be offering assistance for a road traffic accident I have never had! Where do these people get personal details - name/mobile?

First i had a call saying i had an accident in my car, which i had not, they then hung up. Then today i had a call saying something about industrial, so i told the caller i would report him to the preferential call services.

An unwanted call which rang back 15 secs later offering a box to attach to our phone to stop unwanted calls,of which we receive a number each day. very plausible and chatty to the point that I gave card details and agreed to a one off payment.Managed to block card before any payment went through

SCAM! ... Checked a message from this number left on my answering machine. A woman s voice said that " this is Santander, we want to speak to you about a recent £10,000 business account withdrawal" "We will call you back again shortly" ... yeah right! ... I do not bank with Santander, neither privately or as a business... scare tactics to get to you answer the phone next time they call.. I don t think so!
