A scam call from “ Inside Revenue” trying to glean tax information. The foreign sounding man said he could help with claiming the marriage allowance! I told him that as I worked for HMRC anyone who claims the marriage allowance simply has to tick a box on their tax return and there is no need for any interference from a company calling themselves “Inside Revenue”. My advice is give no information and block the number.

This seems to be some good working money trap, similar numbers are reported as robocalls, fake wins, scam offers (in most cases some financial offers). For sure some general call centre. It is British Gas so genuine but I was trying to buy boiler servicing online and they called me during my set up. I was quite surprised. He then proceeded to try and get me to do the same on the phone BUT I preferred to do on the website for safety so declined. When I returned to finish the online forms it just redirected me to call them. I was so annoyed at manipulation I didn’t call them
This is a scam from an aggressive Indian pretending to be from BT Open Reach. He hung up when challenged. The real BT say BT Open Reach/Zone is not customer facing and do not call people. If you have call blocking on your telephone you can block the last call by dialling 1572.

I'm not too certain about the caller, as he started off by saying both my Company name & personal name, & he'd obviously "done his homework" as when I asked him who was calling, he said the name of my provider. Unfortunately he spoke at the speed of sound, so when I asked, he said he'd speak slower, but then the line disconnected, so I didn't get to find out whether the caller was genuine or not.
