Got a call from this number again asking for Mr Armstrong but did not say who they were, I told him the Armstrong’s have not had this number for about 4yrs to which he apologised and put phone down. We have been getting calls from this number for about 3yrs, I always the same thing as we do not know anyone with that name and they always call again!!

Called me twice. Today I checked the number. The pitch: calling from my mobile provider to offer a 30% discount off my bill, then they want to know how much you pay for your bill. If you say sure - they will try and set this up on the phone, or direct you to your provider website. like this is an option, I chose my provider's website, they hung up. Today's call it was the 30% discount again - and hung up.
I think it is SPAM. I haven't picked it up. And I blocked the caller.

Scam Indian call centre, says internet is broken and tries to get you to download a remote access computer program so they can take over your computer and then claim a ransom from you. Suggest you keep them hanging on the line as long as possible but don't download anything or give them your details. Just string them along and frustrate them. Recorded message reporting unusual activity on my credit card. One transaction from Amazon and a foreign transaction for 999 pounds. Press 1 to authorise payment or 2 to speak to an advisor Strongly suspect this is a scam. As it was a local number I tried to call it back later and got unobtainable signal. Beware.
Indian based scam callers who pretend to be from one of the phone companies and now have offers for you. I am completely covered in scam calls from India where the fact that my number is on a government do-not-call list is completely ignored. A valid phone company would not ignore the fact that my number is listed.
