Really nasty, threatening scam from this number. The message said HMRC had a tax fraud case listed against my name and I should press 1 to connect to the HMRC investigating officer to discuss the case. It then went on to say that if I didn't I would be arrested for tax fraud - I knew it was not true but some people could be really scared and stressed by this horrible scam.

These people are scammers who target elderly vulnerable people. They cold called my mother who has dementia, despite her being registered with the TPS. They talked her into completely unnecessary cover for a washing machine for £225 pounds. This seems to be their MO as I have now seen it on numerous forums about them. This is now in the hands of her banks fraud team.
SCAM Coputer voice said they were BT and there was suspicious activity on our phone line and they were going to disconnect it. Press 1 for ? or Press 2 to speak to someone about it. As we have not been a BT customer for nearly a year and do not use there phone line. We are with Virgin that does not use BT lines. It was a scam ! I did not press any number as it would probably cost us money. This company have 100's of numbers under the same prefix and change every last numbers every few day.

Ignored but just as phone began to ring I received a one-time-passcode from O2. This is a well known scam, they ask for the passcode, then use the passcode to enter your account, lock you out, order new handsets etc. and leave you with the £1,500 bill for a new iPhone. Don't let these cunts catch you out and warn your less fraud-savvy relatives

I m ashamed to say that I worked for Ben Reynolds for a short time back in 2012 when his company was called Crown Lawyers. Same story as these, he d get us to find people with debts, take a fee from them and then cut off all contact with them. Supposedly we d get a commission for every job taken on, but he d tell us that the person had decided not to go ahead with recovering their debt and so we got nothing. This company was originally using a landline number. They are now calling people from a bogus mobile number which shows up as 07463 804966. They are not legitimate and seeking additional info about you. When you call the mobile number back a recording says that the number is not recognised. Hang up or block them, but do not confirm your name or address as they ask you to do.
