This is connected to the brit method scam, it's a binary trading scam which is essentially a rip off. although not illegal - If you get sucked-in you will almost certainly loose money!

Having previously had nuisance calls from similar numbers, I picked up the phone but I didn t speak. The caller remained silent and then hung up.
Caller had an Indian accent and asked, "is this (my name)?" I said yes, and he asked again. I said yes. Call disconnected.

Indian chap said he was carrying out a survey for ???? (illegible). Asked me to confirm that my telephone number was ******* (which was obviously correct as he'd just rung it!). Asked me to confirm that my name was Mrs ***** , I said Yes (even though it wasn't, as the name he gave was the lady who used to have my phone number!), he then asked me if my postcode was **** *** & I said Yes (but again it wasn't correct). I received a call from a lady with a very strong accent who purported to have received ?18000.00 from us. she told me she was calling on behalf of Ashford St Peters Hospital yet could not tell me the address she was phoning from. Several calls from this number recently, two so far today. First was a computer logging pickups, then within a few minutes was called again from a call centre (noise in background). Scumbags trying to make money out of the unsuspecting. Blow a whistle down the phone at them and see if they can help themselves.
