SCAM Said they are a credit agent trying to recover an outstanding student loan. Told her I never had a student loan as I didn’t go to university, I went straight into full time employment when I left school. She then got aggressive demanding I pay now or else. So I said I’m handing your number to the police and I have recorded the conversation. Then she swore for a few seconds then hung up.

I received a call from this number today from someone claiming to be NHS Test and Trace but there was no way of verifying who the individual was so I was not willing to share personal information with him. If it is an NHS number then maybe they should send a text beforehand so the recipient knows the identity of the call. This is really important as there are so many phone scams going round and this was in relation to Covid19 where a lot of people feel vulnerable and at the mercy of the NHS.

Joe. I said "You re coming up as a nuisance call on my phone. Why is that?". He identified himself as Joe from a company called Clear Answer working on behalf of EE. Despite being ex-directory and TPS registered, these cold-callers had my name but were after more information, before they could tell me if I qualify for whatever they are peddling - spray foam insulation this time. Ended the call and reported them to TPS - I recommend anyone to do the same.
