SCAM message, trying to get your details to commit fraud. Report and block number.
At 8.20am I answered my land line thinking it must be important and was a local number. It was a automated message saying ‘thank you for your payment of £299 for anti virus, if any problems please call our free phone number’ The number I’m afraid I didn’t get and it didn’t say any company either. I’m sure this is a scam of some sort that they catch you when you call to complain so very much aimed at the trusting, naive or elderly.

Claimed to be from the Credit Investigation Department and, when I told her that I had no outstanding debt, she hung up. Quick search uncovered FCA web page that states: "We believe this firm has been carrying out consumer credit activities in the UK without our permission or authorisation. Called today. Recorded voice claiming to be from my broadband provider and they will be terminating my service due to suspicious traffic. Unable to disconnect the call till I had pressed the disconnect button several times and even after the voice stopped an obvious line was still open even though I could dial. If they call you ensure you have cleared the call before calling your Internet provider or use a different phone so they don't record your details.
Recorded message pertaining to be from HMRCrequesting me to press 1 and speak to a fraud officer about a case against me. I'm sure HMRC wouldn't contact people this way to discuss a case.

I have been receiving several calls a week from this number to my mobile phone, home number and office number. They either say they are from "Trading Banks" or a market research company in Taiwan. Either way, you know it s a scam. I like to have fun with them. They have all been Filipino until today where the caller was of African descent.
