Michael from Windows Customer Service (having an asian accent) called to say that someone from foreign countries are using my computer to send emails in which I ask for money. I found this suspicious as my computer in brand new, purchased last month and has original Windows. Also, Windows don't know my mobile number. I thanked him for calling and said that my husband works in IT and he will look into this and said good bye. He hung up before I could finish. It is a very original scam, not the usual PPI, but

I am the first to comment but I notice I m the 176th person who has tried to find out of this is a dodgy scam/marketing call. I would say the chances are quite high that it is. Let your telephone do the work. If there is no voicemail left then there is no urgency to speak with them!

This number has been calling me on my home phone continuously claiming to be from Sky TV. Indian sounding woman the first time and the other times from a man. When I answer the phone it takes a while for them to start speaking. Poor English - same scam as another number claiming there has been a breach of your sky line and they need you go go on your computer to fix it. Be aware!!

Just received a call from this number. I have had this before and I fell for it. He sounds like someone from an Indian call center except with fake background office ambiance. He will say your computer is at risk and is pinging their server and you need to do (X) in order to secure your computer. Hard sell on what is basically a time share. Fell for the competition advert on Facebook, saying I had won 2nd place and a 2 week holiday at one of there resorts for ?25 each. Paid them ?125 for our 5 and then rou nd out when coming to book it didn t have flights. I had to go to meetings each week which confirmed the time share! I never booked after asking for my money back and they refused. Very bulshy, rude and do what they like. I think the bosses are younger than the ones ringing as they just laugh
