Just received a call from an Indian sounding chap called Charles . Asked me to confirm if I was receiving a high volume of telemarketing calls, and that he could help. Gave me the 0845 number, and told me to call for a box to plug in to the phone for ?1 something per month. Dangerous scam call pretending to be from HMRC. Threatening immediate arrest for non-existent unpaid taxes unless you give them an immediate payment. Just end the call, don t press any keys and if they leave a voicemail don t call it back. There will be no legal consequences, they re just trying to scare you.
