Woman with Indian accent asked for me by name, when I asked who was calling she hung up! Lots of background noise!!

The caller location came up as Brecon, Wales. I didn't answer it. judging by previous comments I was right not to.

Wants to speak with the owner of the business about "finances" but refuses to say who they are with and what they need to discuss with the business owner, but they are a referral from "someone" who said they want to invest. When asked who referred they said it was confidential. I informed them that if they could not tell me any more about the nature of their call, they will not be getting past me to waste my MD s time and I put the phone down on her.

Scammers. Just sent a letter, in addition to text, claiming court action for a vehicle not registered to us ever and supposedly in a car park in a town we have never been to. No doubt they will want all bank details! Ignore them.

Despite registration with the TPS, I had two cold calls about an alleged car accident in which I was involved but I do not own a car and certainly was not involved in an accident on the date claimed. The caller claimed to be from a company called Solicitors Law Firm and to have got details of my alleged accident from the UK National Traffic Department but as far as I can ascertain neither organisation exists. They witheld their phone number but claimed to be calling from 01527 821239.

Have been receiving daily calls from these people - previously they have asked to speak to my mother and simply hung up when told she was out. Today, after more persistent questioning, the caller (who had a heavy Indian accent) said his name was David, calling from Windows Service Centre in Surrey, and that my parents computer has been downloading malicious software. Number actually shows as 0019798234079 on caller ID but this site seems to drop the 00. This is a Windows security scam where they tell you that you have viruses on your PC and they can fix them for you. Didn t go along with it today and said to them that I suppose they were going to show me errors and warnings in my Windows event logs and they just hung up without any further comment. Hopefully they will remove me from their database if they realise I m too Windows savvy to ever fall for this.

I’m suspicious of this number as it came up as Imperial College London but it’s a Bridport number.
