This is a scam! They say they are from BT and your broadband has been hacked so they are offering to make it safe
SCAM, Indians pretending to be National Crime Agency and calling you that your NIN did something wrong. It's a scam.
Been called twice by this number. First one hung up while I was pretending to turn on my computer. 2nd one asked me to press windows-R. Told him it didn t work (aas I hadn t actually bothered to turn it on) so he told me to open a browser. Eventually he admitted that an engineer was going to access my computer to "fix the fault". The exact number was 01340 831714. After searching it here, I called the number back. It has a BT call screener on it. A Scottish sounding older lady picked up the phone. I told her my name and said I'd had a missed call from her number at 7:47am this morning (3-3-23). Her reply? "No, not me, no you haven't" and then she put the phone down. With a call that early in the morning, I thought my son had been in a car accident or something :-(. Very unhelpful and distressing. No idea what's been going
Called 0922 on Sunday am. Number not in my book. Blocked.
