Rang my mobile yesterday. So much background noise I could hardly hear what the bloke was saying. Definitely a call centre. Mumbled something about a company I'd bought from 3 years ago trying to re-connect with me. Sweetener was a £50 gift card. Wouldn't take no for an answer. Hung up on him and blocked the number.

Appears to be a phishing call. I answered and an automated voice just said "goodbye" and the call ended. This typically is an attempt to have you call the number back for any number of reasons, typically non of which are good.

Genuine Nat west fraud I telephoned my bank to verify this and was told to ring the number back as possible fraudulent activity is noted on my account. Lucky enough the bank was on the ball and I didn’t lose anything but they had denied £100s of pounds from being used on a gambling site

I live in Florida, US. Have never before received a SPAM hang up call from England until now. Nevertheless, it was an automated call and I have no friends in, or traveling to the UK.
Scam. Text message from this number purporting to be from EVRi, stating that there is a shipping fee to pay on a parcel, along with a link to a website where payment can be made. Ignore - fraudulent/con attempt.

But could also be the dreaded I'm calling from Microsoft - monitoring the worlds IP addresses and yours is being used illegally. Whoever they are block the number and relax. SCAM - "NC Power" claiming to be our provider (Gazprom) trying to confirm information as next month's billing will be wrong. Same woman called last month from a different number (029 218 2591) asking the exact same thing for the previous month's billing. Pointed out that I'd personally called Gazprom about something else (in the last two days!) and mentioned these calls and that our accounts are actually fine and she hung up?!
