I ve had so many rubbish calls per day that I only answer my mobile. I wait till the phone stops ringing then get No. from 1471 if they have it. Half the time : "caller with held his No." I don t know if my present entry helps. I get these 10 to 15 times a day!..

Called our TPS registered number. When informed of this said they weren t members of that scheme. I just ended the call. My gut feeling is that it s some type of scam.

These numbers are provided by "reputable"service providers and are used (mostly) by independent marketeers on commission from large companies (e.g. BT, Sky, British Gas, etc.) to push products. I do NOT understand why TPS, ICO, or anyone else seems to give a proverbial **** about the nuisance these people are when you have taken every precaution to avoid them.

i cut it off. i never answer withheld or unknown numbers.

Unsolicited call about will writing. Not interested. I do not trust any cold callers.

Seems like a blind sales call. Nobody on the other end when I picked up. When I called back line was engaged. Call centre I should think. Now blocked.

Had a Scouse accent and said they were calling from First Call Ltd carrying out a survey on an accident that I had more than 2 years ago. They said they obtained my information from the insurance company and were checking to make sure that I had received good service. I believe they received this information from "Compare the Market" and not my insurer. Company claiming they had my details from an accident I had had and got stroppy when I kept telling them they had wrong number. Tried to claim it was right number so must be someone else in my "household" who had reported an accident. The number is a business phone solely for my use so they were just talking rubbish.

A couple of days ago I got two text messages confirming an appointment" in East Dulwich London. Needless to say I had no such appointment. I checked the address and it appeared to be a company renting out marquees. I also checked the phone numbers and thus I found this site. Now they have started ringing me but leaving no message. Either they have a wrong number, they are scammers or they are timewasters.
