They then went on to ask lots of questions like what my salary / wage is, insurance questions. My thought is that they try to keep you on the line and you pay for the time

SCAM - The Phone rang and caller (a computer) hung up when I didn't speak! This was a computer generated call trying to sniff out voice lines. If you answer then the line will be detected as 'a voice line' and you'll be called back later by a con-artist. They may also be quick to say they are not selling, simply enquiring, surveying, etc. THESE CALLS ARE SCAMS & HARASSING. If ever in doubt tell them to write to you, but DON'T give your address, if genuine they should know it, or just hang up!
Called today 03.05.23 around 13:20 stating they were from EE, however got my name wrong. Hung up the call, reported to TPS

SPAM this and 11 other land line numbers from this area have called my mobile over the last 2 months. Many have called multiple times, I've lost count. Fed up with them. Previous callers have been from so called Double glazing, green energy and investment companies. The last few were from FX MORGAN CAPITAL who also call from a plethora of mobile numbers- too many to list. The FCA and my bank, after an investigation with fraud squad, have said its a scam company. This company re sale web domains at inflated prices, access your details online with no prior connection. They was operating under a different name, I guess went bust and setup again. They gave me two names of companies hosting my domain, neither of them was correct, seems like a chancer.

Purport to be transaction investigators for TSB, and for an hour went over and over questioning, checking transactions, cancelling card, and then working very hard to persuade that account needed closing and reopening with a safe sort code and account number, asking about standing orders and Direct debits!!! Thankfully we realised in time and put a stop to it. They had enough information by then to make it dodgy!!!!
