It reported to be from Santander fraud department, asking to reply y or n to a text about an attempted purchase at Argos. Blocked the number and reported it as SPAM.

Probably SPAM. When I picked up, there was some noise like someone pocket dialled me, but then an automated robotic voice started talking, so I ended it.

This number is British Gas - probably payment collections department. When you call it back, it goes to a main menu with a series of options to hear balance / pay bill.

Call claimed to be from Vodafone retentions department promising me a 40% discount, asked me a bunch of security questions and then asked me to read him the code from a password reset email that he had triggered on my Vodafone account. This apparently would enable him to send me the priority app so I could access 5G calls and VIP features. Alarm bells at this point. I said I'd call him back then checked with Vodafone. They confirmed that this is not a number they use and not to give out any information. SC

On a more or less regular basis I receive calls from all over the UK whilst I live on the continent I suggest never to get connected as people might be able to use your tel nr to make international calls. I have blocked this number.
This number keeps trying to call me but I haven t answered. As it is a very similar number to other "accident claim" spam ones I suspect it s the same thing.

This was the TV licencing debt collecting agency, Akinika. Agressive calling. My mobile rang straight after the land line call which I didn t answer. I blocked them on my mobile, but I don t have that facility on my DECT phone. I didn t answer. I m skint over Christmas lol, and intend to pay up on the 8th Jan when I get paid. I owe them ?29.10. I didn t answer the call as very suspicious but rang them back to get info. Say they re claims specialists and got my details from Motor Insurance Bureau. I haven t had an accident and they had my name wrong. Very foreign accents. I suspect a scam. have blocked the number.
