An English voice. He asked for me by the correct name and when I said yes he said "Hello Maam, I'm Dean Baker, I'm calling from Microsoft, it's about your computer, how are you today?" I replied with "Oh yes, I've heard all about this type of call, do you still want to carry on?" The phone went dead even before I'd finished my sentence.
Silent call - disturbed my train of thought during work hours on a work-only number. Best guess is they dial out in excess of capacity and just dump surplus responders -- whoever they are this is an abusive practice

SCAM / SPAM Automated message saying it's HMRC calling regarding a fraud case. I doubt the HMRC would call in this way. They ask you to press 1 to sort the issue. I would assume they start charging you an extortionate fee if you press the number. Do not press. If HMRC want to get in touch with you, they will do it with a person on the phone, not an automated message.
Fraud This person called me (in Belgium) saying he was from "Microsoft Service Centre", trying to get my informations of my computer!!!!

Have been calling me frequently over the past few months, using variations of this number so blocking the number isn t much help. This number calls on average once a day - to a business number. I press 9 as instructed to remove from database but nothing happens. As Robbiefan says if you press 5 to speak to someone they just put the phone down on you when they realise there is nothing in it for them.
