Received a call today (25.01.23) stating I was being investigated by HMRC and to press number 1 to speak with an operative. I just did nothing and the call was ended automatically. I'm guessing this was a scammer! Blocked of course.
First they called tried to confirm that the were speaking to the person they were calling for. Annoyingly they would read back my address. Then they would ask if they could do a short survey. another time they have an Indian accent and sometimes they have an English accent. Sometimes Indian man. The English accent one wanted to know if there was central heating in the house. she went straight into the question despite me telling her she had the wrong name and number. Didn't prompt call, when answering I didn't say anything they didn't either, they hung up. Call lasted two secs. BLOCKED. Could be dangerous, but definitely annoying. Get alot of such calls from London area, just answer to possibly waste their money even if possibly not.
