Kirby Cross, Frinton-on-Sea
received two calls today both went to answerphone saying from HMRC asking to call back or your solicitor. saying time sensitive. again agree that it is most probably spam and a high cost call to go back.
Suspect this was telemarketing or scam call. Anyway added it to my BT delete list. I suspect they use different numbers every day as they are increasing this week
Fraud - Claims to be the tax office - hung up.

Amazon Prime Scam
A slight twist on other reviews, as claiming to have ?2500.75 (very precise) owing to my daughter, on my phone, for an incident 2-3 years ago, or when pressed, in the last 4 years (all very imprecise!). Asked for company name and told Motor Investigations. I haven t acted on behalf of my daughter on my phone for over 10 years now, so old contact lists being obtained from somewhere. Will be reporting to Ofcom.
Automatic saying £79 to be deducted for Amazon Prime, I don’t have Amazon prime!

I recieved two calls from this number saying that thay were HSBC fraud dept. I refused to give my details so they said ring the number on the back of the card. Instead I rang a number on HSBC website under security and was told nothing was highlighted or noted on my account and not to worry. Then I googled the number and saw all these comments, so I rand the number on the back of the card instead as a double check and was informed that fraud had indeed been trying to contact me. They put me through and some
"Hello - my name is Amy, and I am the local advisor for the [postcode part 1] area...." Clearly reading from a set script, asking about my home improvements - when firmly pushed, said the 'company' was "Homes Advice". Call appears to be from North of Manchester, nowhere near me. Put phone down when I pressed for an address. Some sort of scam?
