I asked them to tell me the address to which they claimed the debt was overdue on, but they couldn't. Found listed online as giffgaff Customer service. My mobile phone account was debited by £6.25. Obvious scam as giffgaff as I found out later have no call centre to contact them.
This number is clearly a scam stating taxes are owed & legal proceedings will be started. 1. The terminology (& robotic voice) is American. 2. HMRC will never phone you. They will message you to go to your on-line account.

SCAM / SPAM Automated message saying it's HMRC calling regarding a fraud case. I doubt the HMRC would call in this way. They ask you to press 1 to sort the issue. I would assume they start charging you an extortionate fee if you press the number. Do not press. If HMRC want to get in touch with you, they will do it with a person on the phone, not an automated message.
