An obvious and badly thought out scam
Number actually shows as 0019798234079 on caller ID but this site seems to drop the 00. This is a Windows security scam where they tell you that you have viruses on your PC and they can fix them for you. Didn t go along with it today and said to them that I suppose they were going to show me errors and warnings in my Windows event logs and they just hung up without any further comment. Hopefully they will remove me from their database if they realise I m too Windows savvy to ever fall for this.

Called our TPS registered line. Started talking before we had even managed to say "Good afternoon". Demanded to speak to "The owner of the business". When asked who we were speaking to said "UK Distributors". Were told we did not wish to speak to them and we hung up. They immediately rang back demanding to know why we had hung up on them; told them to get stuffed.
Have been getting a lot of calls from the Bala area code including 01678222345. Scam using variations - pensions, PPI, broadband, etc. Don't give them any details or remote...
Paid number - called a relative (she was not even in the house at the time but the number appeared in her statement) and cost her around £13.

Called 12th and 14th Feb 2022. When I picked up, it sounded like a call centre in the background and the caller was clearly talking to their mates, and they hung up both times. Apparently they are in Trafalgar Sq!

Despite being ex-directory and TPS registered, these cold-callers had my name but were after more information, before they could tell me if I qualify for whatever they are peddling - spray foam insulation this time. Ended the call and reported them to TPS - I recommend anyone to do the same.
