There was a recorded announcement of two misuses of my credit card (one of them Tesco). No mention of who was calling. A recorded announcement asked me to "press 2 and hold" to speak to customer service. A male voice with a strong foreign accent then asked me for my personal details. When asked what bank he was from the phone went dead.

Call received from a male with an Indian accent stating he was calling from Aviva, but his English was very bad and I said I couldn't understand him and asked for someone else to ring me if important. So far no response. There was a lot of chatter in the background and he didn't speak immediately when I answered the call.

Caller stated they were calling from somewhere which sounded like Yonny (EON something) regarding our energy account. Caller did not specify which type of energy. Caller gave this number as a number to ring back 'as soon as you receive this message'. Ignored and deleted.

This and another similar number called my land line and I called the one above back, as I was waiting for a call, but there was no reply Within five minutes a foreign man called back and stated I had phoned him a few minutes before. When told I was responding to a call from him, he insisted I had called him an hour ago (impossible as no one was home), and his attitude changed to verging on verbally aggressive. I hung up. This is a local telephone number for the area I live but was a scam automated call purporting to be from Amazon saying my Amazon Prime has expired and they have withdrawn £95 from my bank for another year's contribution. I don't use Amazon and nothing has been withdrawn from my bank. The caller asked me to press a key on my phone for further information which I did not do. I have not tried to ring the caller's number in case it connects me to a premium line.
I had a call this afternoon apparently from this number 08000234567, which I know is the number of the Financial Ombudsman's Office, when the caller said he was from the fraud dept of my bank. I had called the Financial Ombudsman earlier in the day on that number. It did not feel right and when I challenged the caller he put down the phone. Somebody may be able to pick up the numbers of those who have called the FOO? I will tell the FOO by email as their phone system takes too long to get through!

I'm not sure if this number is a scam or not because my card had stopped working the day before, but would always recommend if you need to contact the bank then google what their phone number is and ring that one, NOT the number a message asks you to call (for coop bank it should be 0345 721 2212)
