Just received a call from an Indian sounding chap called Charles . Asked me to confirm if I was receiving a high volume of telemarketing calls, and that he could help. Gave me the 0845 number, and told me to call for a box to plug in to the phone for ?1 something per month. I asked him to hold on for a moment, muted the call, put it on speaker and just left the phone on the desk while I carried on with my work. This number has called me twice today. I foolishly answered it the first time to find the person at the other end put the phone down after I said hello and I ignored it the second time. Don t want any more calls thanks so added to my rejected list! :-(

This is a scam number. They called me and it sounded like a recorded message. The message was they were from Inland Revenue and that there has been a warrant issued for me for defrauding Inland Revenue. Then press 1 to speak to someone. At this point I hung up as I know Inland Revenue do not make cold call. They would generally write to you if there are issues.
