Over a three week period I’ve received a number of text messages from this number claiming to be Legal & General. Apparently they would like to speak to me regarding my life insurance. My life cover is provided by another company.
Fraud SCAM: We’ve been speaking to BT about this and they confirmed the call was indeed a scam. A spokesperson from BT us, “We’ll never call a customer to tell them their router or IP address has been compromised or ask for any personal information, including bank details unexpectedly and we’ll never call from an ‘unknown’ number.
Utilities: Indian voice saying that they were from EE. Told them I was with Vodafone (I'm not) and was informed that EE and Vodafone were now joined (they're not, Vodafone are looking to join with 3). I then hung up and blocked the numberSPAM

This is my house telephone number in Oswestry Shropshire. A 90 year old lady in some distress phoned me on this number today to ask why I had been contacting her. She told me she lives in Eastbourne and had been contacted from a number purporting to be from this one asking for finacial information. I explained I had not phoned her but it was probably a phishing scam and suggested she blocked it. I feel I needed to report this scam and this number on her behalf. Scum does not adequately label these people.

Caller definitely had a "British" accent (though I know there isn't just one - he was definitely a native English speaker though) but really didn't annunciate when he was speaking so I struggled to understand him. He backtracked several times when I called him out on what he was saying. They came up as on my phone as "Netring" with a red flag by it.. I didn't answer... (never do if unknown/unexpected) So I googled "Netring" and the phone number correlates.. https://netring.co.uk/pages/support/ I'd say more marketing but to what end?? Steer clear.
