Just received a call from an Indian sounding chap called Charles . Asked me to confirm if I was receiving a high volume of telemarketing calls, and that he could help. Gave me the 0845 number, and told me to call for a box to plug in to the phone for ?1 something per month. I asked him to hold on for a moment, muted the call, put it on speaker and just left the phone on the desk while I carried on with my work. Constantly ringing again and again. i ignored the calls and they rang 8 time in 15 minutes time period. It is incredibly annoying. I answered the last call and the man was quite aggressive and refused to remove my name from his calling list and blamed me for answering my own phone. He said if i did not answer he woudl not be able to try to sell me things!

SCAM / SPAM - called purporting to be from BT Openreach about slow internet. I do currently have a case pending about slow net, so believed them at first. Got suspicious when they said they needed me to share my screen with them. When I asked them for a phone number to call them back on to check who they were they hung up. BEWARE.

This is a scam number. They called me and it sounded like a recorded message. The message was they were from Inland Revenue and that there has been a warrant issued for me for defrauding Inland Revenue. Then press 1 to speak to someone. At this point I hung up as I know Inland Revenue do not make cold call. They would generally write to you if there are issues.

SCAM Claimed to be from BT Broadband and told me my internet router was sending error signals to them and that I wasn't getting the speed I should be. They give you a bit of blurb about internet speed and then ask you to turn on your laptop, they ask you to press 'Ctrl + Windows +R' then type: - 'Eventvwr' into the box. They then use screen that comes up to persuade you that you have a problem. Once they have you convinced, which is easily done if you are not tech savvy, the sting.. Your money!!!

Said they were from BT Open Reach about my internet connection. I'm with Virgin Media - when I pointed that out the caller said Open Reach also look after Virgin's infrastructure - so I terminated the call
Call center Lady calling from a Health Insurance provider insisting on asking a few questions that would take under a minute. Despite my polite response of not being interested she still pushed so I gave her a chance. They know my full name, postcode and house number and when asked where this data is from they said it’s from a public database. I wouldn’t call it harmful but definitely doesn’t understand the word “no”
