SCAM - called and knew my name but wouldn't say who they were, hung up when I asked why they were calling, suspicious

I rang this number (01252 860999) back because I didn’t know who had called and don’t know anybody in Aldershot. Automatic voice said “The number you have dialled has not been recognised”. I think it must be a scam caller. Annoying or Dangerous?
SPAM: Claims not to be a sales call, but then tries to sell you life insurance. Told them to go forth and multiply and blocked the number on my phone

SCAM. Caller pretended to be a big company with an unpaid bill. Did not understand my business or why I would owe money (I don't owe them, have never bought from them). I nicely explained I knew this was a scam and she was trying to steal money. She then OFFERED to delete my number from the database!
Safe number I received a missed call from this number but none of the 'who called me' websites had any comments and I wanted to know who had called. As the number is local to me, I took a chance and called them back, It's the Boots Opticians Appointment Booking Centre so it's quite safe. They have written to me several times as I'm due for my eye test but I just hadn't got around to making an appointment. I'm leaving this comment just to let other searchers know who called.

Sales call ….from three, offering 40% discount on current contract. They didn’t even know my name and I’ve been with them for 20 years….jokes, but they did say they can confirm if I give them my email address….I don’t think so pal, they must of thought I was born yesterday, and I clearly stated to them I think your lying and prove yourself. This is a scam number as they have called my house phone number today saying my bank cards have 2 transactions going out,that are not recognised, little do they know my house phone number has never been given to anyone apart from my sister in law who lives abroad as we don't use it we use our mobiles. So this would not be linked to any of our banks, and its an auto mated message.

Call center Keeps calling me about housing repairs, I've blocked the number and they just use another number. Sick of it, there needs to be a way of reporting this and getting something done.
A robotic voice called me and said that I returned a parcel without consent and that they would have to take legal action. I haven’t bought/ received a parcel. It’s said push 1 to talk to a representative, I just ended the call. Probably scam and as part of a call centre

Told them they were talking nonsense and only trying to spam/scam people. Needless to say they quickly hung up. Caller possibly overseas and routing to a UK number.
