I believe this to be a banking scam as the automated called said they were from Bank Security - but no bank name given. They told me that a charge for £700 had been made by Amazon (I no longer have an account there) and an international charge of £2,000. I was asked to press a number to speak to security!!!

Second call from this area of London in last few weeks but recognised area code number from past - ignored both calls.
I answered the phone, silence, then a recorded message said they were RMG and they could not connect me to one of their advisers at the moment, If I wish to call them back then they would connect me to an adviser. Obviously a "sales call" trying to get me to part with my money. Conclusion: Illegal activity.
Definite scam. Claimed (falsely) to be Harry from Carphonewarehous3 in London calling because "we have a special offer on new phones today". I live in Scotland, he's calling from London claiming to be a big phone store. They would never ring me like that, nor you either. How could he have got my number legitimately? Was an answerphone recording telling me I owed money to the Tax office. I blocked the number as I'm sure HMRC don't use mobile phones to make calls, and will find a conventional method of contacting me rather than a dodgy auto service.
