Caller with an Asian accent said he was from o2 and I had been selected to have a 50% discount on my tariff. I have has these calls before and seemed to be an obvious scam, so I briefly went along… The caller said I would receive an email from o2 but first I would have to pass security and he would send me 2 links with questions. Told him he was a scammer and hung up. Reported call & number to the ICO

Answered call and voice identified himself as Energy advisor in area and asking to confirm as householder. Feeling polite, I responded yes but do not entertain cold calls and asked to end call. The voice continued making me believe it is voice-activated and not to be trusted. I put the phone down.

He asked me to install a support app on my phone so he could check and make changes. At no point did he use my name or go through any kind of ID process. This is a scam. Scam is to get Yr correct information name dob.. address and ask u for the 2 letter and 2nd 4th letter of your national insurance number then they say it does NOT match put u in fear that if u don't confirm correct details BTW now with NI BUT with 1st letter, 1st 3rd and last letter of NI. Advised call that my loft is fully insulated and boarded. Caller said we'll call that closed then. Could that be the caller from 01134780149 at 17:26 hrs earlier same day, and, from 01134780181 at 17:43 same day but didn't leave a message?
